THE DAIRY, WADDESDON MANOR WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY

Rose and Rob were married at the Dairy a few weeks ago on a warm sunny day, with a ceremony in the stunning lakeside gardens on the Waddesdon estate. During my 24 years as a photographer this is without doubt my all-time favourite outdoor location for a wedding ceremony: the waterside pavilions are surrounded by weeping willows, exotic birds and some of the biggest carp I've ever seen. You really couldn't ask for a more romantic setting; it's bizarre to think that this is where the Rothschilds used to keep their prized cattle!

Rose was wearing abeautiful shimmering full length wedding gown, and Rob's reaction said it all when he caught his first glimpse of Rose as she came up the aisle. The ceremony was witnessed by their closest friends and family, and by the colourful resident ducks on the lake! After the ceremony it was canap├ęs and drinks in the gardens whilst their talented soloist performed for the newlyweds and their family and friends, followed by pictures in the lovely lakeside grounds.

After the wedding breakfast and speeches Rose and Rob were keen to go up to the main house on the estate, Waddesdon Manor. The manor house provides the most incredible backdrop for pictures, as the gardens are always brimming with colour from spring till autumn.  For our visit we had thousands of wall flowers and lots of vibrant tulips to bring the pictures to life.

This was such a fun wedding day for their guests, and Rose and Rob even laid on lots of garden games for their guests to enjoy. The lovely relaxed atmosphere throughout the day certainly enabled me to capture some really special moments that I hope Rose and Rob will cherish for many years to come.

This is the first of my 14 weddings at the Dairy this year, hopefully the amazing weather we had at Rose and Rob's wedding will return for my other bookings at the venue. A big thank you to Claire and the team at the Dairy for recommending me as always.

Over the next week I'm attending weddings at Hampden House and two more at the Dairy.

Enjoy your week!

ITALY, FRANCE & MALTA 5 WEEK TRAVEL ADVENTURE

Every few years I promise myself a nice long holiday.  This April I took a five week holiday in Italy, France and Malta.  Although I turned away lots of work and wedding bookings for the holiday, on the plus side I've come back fully refreshed and raring to get stuck into my usual frantic wedding and portrait schedule.

Throughout this summer I'm attending an average of 8-10 weddings per month - a very busy schedule! I adore my job but we all need a good holiday now and again. My Italian adventure took me to Tuscany, Rome, Florence, Bologna, Parma, Cinque Terre & then on to the Languedoc region in the south of France, with a brief side trip to Malta. I love both the stunning architecture and amazing food that these countries have to offer.

I never holiday with my professional cameras, instead I take just a few photographs on my little Fuji X20 compact camera. I hope you enjoy looking at some of my favourites.

Now I'm back at work I'll be posting regular wedding blogs again.

Enjoy your week!
