Jen & Johnny were married at Hughenden Valley Parish Church; the valley setting and rolling hills really make this one of the area's finest church locations. The medieval church's most famous parishioner was twice former prime minister Benjamin Disraeli, as his home during Queen Victoria's reign was Hughenden Manor located directly behind the church.

Jen & Johnny were blessed with the most glorious warm sunny day, at least until the guests were announced into the marquee after the pictures and drinks reception when the heavens abruptly opened! All week long the forecasters were predicting downpours earlier in the day, it was lucky they had it wrong!

The meadow behind the church provided a great setting for a few dramatic pictures after the service.  From this angle I was able to capture the dreamy spire of the church in the valley setting through the tall sun bleached grasses. Jen & Johnny then left the church through an aisle of all their guests to a rapturous round of applause, and it was then just a five minute drive onto the reception in their sporty convertible wedding car.

The marquee reception was in Jen's parents garden in Widmer End, and the farmhouse garden setting was stunning. The interiors of the marquee looked fabulous too with lots of crystal candelabras and wonderful vibrant flowers. There was a great party atmosphere, with lots of children to the wedding so it was very relaxed. I stayed through until the evening's entertainment to capture the dancing and casino; I've never seen so many children on the dance floor disco dancing the night away! I got totally soaked on the way back to my car for my home bound journey, but I really didn't mind as I knew I had some cracking photographs from the day!

My favourite picture was taken inside the church of Jen & Johnny praying in front of the altar; they were lit very dramatically by two huge stained glass windows. This is a great example of being in the right place at the right time, and I already have this picture on my main online wedding gallery.

This weekend I'm attending another two marquee weddings, fingers crossed for more good weather!

Enjoy your week!
